About Us

The Swedish Artists’ and Musicians’ Interest Organization (SAMI), founded by artists' and musicians' unions in 1963,  is a non-profit organization with the purpose of managing the performers’ rights established in the Swedish Copyright Act and related international laws and conventions.

SAMI has over 36,000 member performers who receive payment when their sound recordings are broadcasted or retransmitted via radio and television or public performance. In close partnership with over 50 performers' organizations in countries in Europe, North and South America, and Asia, SAMI is also a pioneer in the industry for the representation of performers across the world.
